For book lovers and collectors: The Refined Eye
Join us for an intimate afternoon for collectors and book lovers with two masters in the field, exploring detail and nuance through conversation and case studies of various book projects. This is a rare opportunity to experience professional tips, personal anecdotes, and participate in conversation with elite members of Seattle’s publishing community who have contributed to the history of photography through books featuring the work of Lee Friedlander, Robert Adams, Hector Acebes, Andy Warhol, Marcel Duchamp and Dorothea Lange, among others.
Ed Marquand‘s early interest in art, design, and publishing set his professional direction. He started Marquand Books in 1978 to be a graphic design and photography business specializing in work for art galleries, museums, and artists; it evolved into an art book publishing company in the mid-1980s and remains a pillar of Seattle’s publishing community. He is also a co-founder of IOColor, and the eastern Washington artist community Mighty Tieton. Ed will share stories and insights from his 30+ years of developing artful books. www.marquandbooks.com, www.mightytieton.com
