Please join us for a Masterclass artist talk with photographer, bookmaker, and publisher Richard Renaldi.

Renaldi (b. 1968, Chicago) has pursued an acclaimed career exploring portraiture and place through complex and emotionally charged large format photographs. From his iconic series Touching Strangers to intimate portraits of New York’s nightlife revelers in Manhattan Sunday to his focus on fast food workers during the pandemic with his series Billions Served, Renaldi’s portraits seduce our gaze while simultaneously confronting deeper questions of empathy and the human connection.

He is represented by Benrubi Gallery in New York and Robert Morat Galerie in Berlin. Five monographs of his work have been published, including Richard Renaldi: Figure and Ground (Aperture, 2006); Fall River Boys (Charles Lane Press, 2009); Touching Strangers (Aperture, 2014); Manhattan Sunday (Aperture, 2016); I Want Your Love (Super Labo, 2018). He was the recipient of a 2015 fellowship from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.

Copies of Richard’s books will be available for purchase and signing following the talk.
