PCNW PRESENTS: OPENING RECEPTION

Photographers have expressed a need for guidance in the art market; galleries deserve greater support for the on-the-job education they provide artists new to this realm. PCNW has selected ten photographers—emerging, mid-career, and master—who do not have gallery representation in the Northwest to be a part of PCNW PRESENTS for a fixed period of time. A selection of their works will be on view, and for sale, in our alcove exhibition space and online. Private studio visits, as well as conversations, lectures, and panels in our public programs will engage PCNW PRESENTS artists and issues.

Exhibiting Photographers: Ernie Flowers and Marcia Glover

Ernie Flowers comes from the coast of North Carolina, where he developed his love of photography and, while in college, sold his first photo to “Wildlife in North Carolina” magazine. He has lived in Seattle for 25 years and maintains an affinity for black-and-white film photography and for his darkroom. Among other places, Ernie has held solo exhibitions at A Step Above gallery in Wenatchee and Glazer’s Camera Gallery in Seattle. One of his photograms was a winner of the Alternative Processes competition at Black & White Magazine, leading to its publication in the international fine arts magazine for collectors.

Marcia Glover received her BFA in Photography from Montclair University, NJ. She has taught photography, worked as a graphic designer, and Interactive Software Designer. Marcia lives in Bellevue, WA. Work from Marcia’s Small Town series was selected for the Center for Fine Art Photography 2015 juried show ‘Simple’. Selected work accepted for Artist Trust’s annual benefit art auction 2013 and 2014 .Founding member Studio F Gallery A Photography Gallery, Seattle WA 2012-2015 Member Fotofemmes Collective, Seattle WA
