Join experienced book artist Sarah Mottaghinejad for this two-session instructional workshop as we spill all the secrets on the Secret Belgian Binding technique. The appeal of this book structure is in the hard cover’s ability to fold behind the book, and in its pages laying flat when open making it uniquely appropriate for photobooks. We’ll learn all about it’s history, functionality and the character you can add to make this book a show piece for any of your secrets. You will make your own Secret Belgian Book in this workshop. PCNW will provide the core supply kit to registered participants, including book board, text and decorative paper, needle, thread, PVA, glue brush, awl, and cardstock tapes. You will just need to have on hand, a phone book or thick catalog that you don’t mind destroying, a retractable craft knife (like an Olfa blade), a cutting mat, and a metal edged ruler.
