Spend a whole day photographing the over wintering Snow Geese near Fir Island reserve up in the Skagit Valley. The group will leave from Seattle bright and early, and plan to spend the day learning how to and photographing Snow Geese, Swans, and many other bird species that flock to the Skagit Valley for the winter. We will stay until the sun sets to get as much good light and time with the geese as we can. You will learn and experiment with telephoto lenses and tele-convertors (several lenses will be available for students to test).
Meeting time includes travel time between Seattle and shoot location, i.e. depart from Seattle at 9am and return around 7pm. Participants are responsible for travel arrangements. Participants are welcome to meet at the shoot location, details for which will be provided as the workshop date approaches.
The instructor, Tara Champion, will be in touch in lead up to the workshop to find out what kind of camera body you have (i.e. Canon or Nikon) to arrange for lenses, and to share additional details about the workshop location, etc.
Students are asked to bring their camera, a tripod, warm clothes, comfortable shoes, food and water for yourself for the day.
