In conjunction with PCNW’s current exhibition Pained Vistas, curators Roula Seikaly and Jon Feinstein will engage exhibiting artists in a discussion on the role and responsibility of photographers who approach landscapes charted with conflict, pain and trauma. How do we sensitively and respectfully navigate scenic terrain loaded with catastrophe and contradiction? How do we acknowledge or grapple with the complications of aestheticizing the land’s fraught histories?
