Morell’s “Childhood” series began shortly after his son Brady was born. He began working with a large-format view camera and, to better understand his son’s perspective, worked on the floor from what would be his baby’s eye level, peering into the emergent reality of his son’s viewpoint. Of Dollhouse he has said it “pits the security of our home with the lurking of the outside—not quite dangerous but other.”
