“I grew up by the sea and it was a big part of my life as a kid. Puget Sound has never felt the same. When I start to think about home, where it is, and where I want it to be, the contrast between the Atlantic coast and the Puget Sound forms a backdrop for my thoughts.”

An Irish artist currently living in Seattle, Hayes has spent most of his life living near the sea. After graduating from University College Cork’s Computer Science program, and spending a brief time in Dublin, he joined the Irish diaspora and moved to Seattle in 2008. Hayes is a 2017 graduate of PCNW’s certificate program.
