b. 1989, Seattle, WA; currently traveling the west coast
Nguyen, a photographer and documentary filmmaker, graduated in 2012 from Cornish College of the Arts; this portrait of his father was part of his BFA exhibition. As an American child to his immigrant father, Nguyen has gently probed generation, ethnicity and culture through the still and moving image. In 2015, Nguyen was Director of Photography for Even the Walls, an award-winning documentary on the redevelopment of Yesler Terrace, the nation’s first integrated public housing project. He has exhibited his work in G. Gibson Gallery, Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience, and Photographic Center Northwest. His work is in the permanent collections of the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture and the Monsen Collection, among others.
