PCNW Thesis Exhibition
Suzanne Fiore, Andrej Gregov
& Kristin Zwiers
On view: July 2 – August 15, 2015
Graduation & Reception: Thursday, July 9, 6-9 pm
Every year PCNW celebrates the graduates of the Certificate in Fine Art Photography program through a comprehensive exhibition of their thesis work. This exhibition not only marks the culmination of this 53-credit program and year-long project, but introduces three new members of the Seattle-based artist community.
Suzanne Fiore’s Life ReLived is an exploration of her family photo album, connecting her more deeply to memories that are not her own but have often times felt familiar. Inspired by original snapshots and stories told by her grandmother, Suzanne creates a more complete visual story of her family archives by capturing the moments that went un-photographed.
In Out of Context, Andrej Gregov explores sculptural forms in architecture. Focusing primarily on the building itself without the influence of its surroundings, he transforms them into objects of color, texture, forms and light. His process relies on the use of large format cameras to capture high resolution images and uses traditional darkroom techniques to make photographs of high acuity and ambiance.
Kristin Zwiers’ Conundrum explores the complexity of roles as mother, wife and artist. Photographing her surrounding environment, Zwiers reaches into the subconscious to create layered images that at times unify these various forces and at other times reveal these competing interests.
