Photo-Op
14th Annual Competition Exhibition
Juror: Jen Bekman, Jen Bekman Gallery, NY
On view: July 13 – September 14, 2009
This international annual juried exhibition remains among the most popular shows in the Photo Center’s annual schedule. The competition is open to all photographers, all photographic processes, and all themes. The juror looks for work that represents a larger, cohesive body of work and selects a short series from each photographer chosen. Choosing from over 2500 images, the exhibition is full of surprises – fresh and exciting work!
Juror Bio: Jen Bekman owns a gallery in NY, writes a blog called Personism and is the founder of the international photo competition, Hey, Hot Shot! Her latest endeavor is 20×200, a place to buy editioned prints and photos at ridiculously affordable prices. Jen Bekman Projects, the gallery, its exhibitions and Jen herself have been featured in dozens of publications including The New York Times, Harper’s, Art in America, Foam, Businessweek, Dwell, Der Spiegel and Le Monde.
