Remembering Jini Dellaccio 1917-2014
Jini @ 96

Legendary photographer Jini Dellaccio died peacefully on the afternoon of July 3rd—she was 97 years old.  Jini was an American photographer best known for her images of Pacific Northwest rock and pop acts of the 1960s, particularly the Sonics, Wailers, Daily Flash, and Don and the Goodtimes. Jini’s photographs were the subject of her first major exhibition at PCNW in 2011, a well-deserved and long-overdue achievement that was met with great excitement, love, and admiration by our community and everyone who knew Jini.

Ann Pallesen, our gallery director shares, “We are honored to have hosted Jini’s first gallery show—she was such a talented photographer with a unique and distinctive style. She often photographed bands outdoors in the lush Pacific Northwest—dressed in their suits—clowning around, and in unconventional arrangements. She had a unique approach that was much different than the commercial photography of her time, and she made her mark in history. She will be greatly missed.”

Memorial Service to be determined.

The Jini Dellaccio Collection is showing her photographs at Easy Street Records in West Seattle.  All sales of prints and any donations will go in her honor to:
