We are so lucky to have Janet Neuhauser as one of our core faculty members. She says “I took my first photography class over 30 years ago. The moment I saw the print appear in the developer, I was hooked. I knew I had to let everything else go in my life and just do photography.” Janet holds an MFA in Photography from Pratt Institute in NYC. She is currently very involved with her pinhole project and has inspired many youngsters and adults alike at Photo Center to get creative with the long exposure pinhole process. But her current exploits in pinhole and night photography, and her commitment to inspiring students is not where it stops, the breadth of Janet’s work is stunning. From 35 years worth of self portraits, to haunting portraits of youth and poignant documentation of her Red Hook neighborhood in New York, Janet brings a great deal of perspective and excitement to our educational offerings.
Janet is teaching a Photography I: Digital class this coming spring on Mondays, 6-9pm. Hurry over to our website to reserve a spot in this class! Learning from Janet is a real treat.
