Workshop: Using Your On-Camera Flash

Wednesday July 16th 6-9pm

Contemporary on-camera flash equipment has evolved to a powerful tool for the creative photographer, given its versatility and power in a compact package. This workshop examines the techniques and practices of professional portable lighting equipment for creative use. Rather than merely illuminating a subject, one can transform the environment by using the on-camera flash with a few changes in how it is conventionally used.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own camera and flash (along with any related accessories). Various camera and flash equipment will be demonstrated during this workshop, offering participants a chance to compare how small changes can impact the final look of images. Topics discussed: auto versus manual controls, hard light versus soft light, lighting ratios, diffusion methods with modifiers, using and syncing multiple sources.
