Mar 3 | A New Republic: Drop-in Community Photo Sessions at SAM with PCNW Faculty Zorn B. Taylor and Carina A. del Rosario
Thursday, Mar 3 | 7-9pm | at SAM
Inspired by themes of power, representation and personal expression in the upcoming exhibition, Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic, the Seattle Art Museum invites community members to have their portraits taken by artists Carina A. del Rosario and Zorn B. Taylor. While having their portrait taken, the subjects are asked to respond to three questions: How do you think others see you? How do you see yourself? How do you want to be seen?
The resulting photographs and statements will be on exhibit in SAM’s community gallery during February and will be shared on SAM’s website. In the months ahead, we will be adding to this web page with more faces and perspectives.
Interested in participating? Join us at the Seattle Art Museum on First Thursdays to have your portrait taken and add to the dialogue. The New Republic Community Portrait Project photographers will be on location on February 11, March 3, and April 7, 2016.
