Priya Kambli was born and raised in India. She moved to the United States at the age of 18 carrying her entire life in one suitcase weighing about 20 lbs. She began my artistic career in the States and her work has always been informed by her experience as a migrant.

She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette and continued on to receive a Masters degree in Photography from the University of Houston. In 2010 her monograph titled Color Falls Down was published by PhotoLucida.She is currently a Professor of Art at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri.
