Conversation: ‘Edward Curtis is Complicated’

Join independent curator and Assistant Professor in the University of Washington’s Information School Miranda Belarde-Lewis, PhD, filmmaker and activist Tracy Rector, and PCNW executive director Michelle Dunn Marsh in a frank and open discussion about the life, work and legacy of photographer Edward S. Curtis, whose studio was based in Seattle.

Lewis works to highlight and celebrate Native artists; she is a member of the Takdeintaan Clan of the Tlingit Nation and is enrolled at Zuni Pueblo; Rector (Seminole/Choctaw) is the Executive Director and Co-founder of Longhouse Media, and is a featured artist in the Seattle Art Museum exhibition Double Exposure.
