Prerequisites: Proficient knowledge of camera operations and general photographic concepts required.
This one–day food styling and photography workshop at Aran’s light–filled studio in Belltown, will focus on how to approach food in an editorial and lifestyle environment. Aran will discuss her philosophy on shooting in natural daylight, styling food for camera, sourcing and styling props and composition. Aran will also discuss the trends in food photography, how to find a visual voice, style and some of the business aspects of freelance food photography. The workshop will also feature a festive seasonal meal prepared by Aran for participants.
Aran Goyoaga is a 2-time James Beard Award finalist for her blog Cannelle et Vanille. She is a freelance food stylist and photographer based in Seattle. She is also the author of “Small Plates & Sweet Treats: My Family’s Journey to Gluten-Free Cooking”. Her work has been featured in Food & Wine, Conde Nast Traveler, Vogue, Everyday Food, New York Times, GOOP, Saveur, In Style, Sweet Paul and many more publications.
