Raiding the Archives

Credits: 3 - fulfills Elective requirement for Certificate Program

Description:
This class will offer students the opportunity to visit both important and lesser known archives in the region in order to activate historical material and perspectives through new eyes. Instructor Eirik Johnson will lead visits and discussions on the appropriation of archival material among other topics and students will develop new interpretations to historical material through photographic projects.

*No class on Thursday, July 4. Two additional off-site meetings TBD.

Rental fees (not included in tuition) are charged for use of the Photo Center facilities – darkroom, digital lab, studio, etc – to complete assignments outside of class; a list of rental rates for students is available on the Hours/Rates page.
