Prerequisites: Photography I: Digital or Digital Imaging I: Photoshop Fundamentals
Credits: 3 - fulfills elective requirement for Certificate Program
Images are, at times, only the foundation of the expressions we want to convey; there are a variety of methods that can be used to build upon that foundation to add depth, texture, reflective properties, and/or text. In this class we will explore alternative surfaces for printing and/or transferring images. We will learn methods of layering both digitally and physically. We will play with methods of adding text, texture, even shape to our work. Throughout the quarter, we will discuss ways that these methods and techniques might be used to convey message, thought, and expression. Join us as we explore outside the lines and stretch the boundaries of expression within photography.
Rental fees (not included in tuition) are charged for use of PCNW’s facilities – darkroom, digital lab, studio, etc – to complete assignments outside of class; a list of rental rates for students is available on the Hours/Rates page.
