This course begins with a brief review of Light Control Basics. It then explores further exciting ways to put light to use, including use of movement, mixing strobe and ambient light, and using colored gels to create emotionally compelling images. We will also introduce dedicated flash (speed lights). Students in this class will be given creative problem–solving assignments that may result in portfolio–level work.
*A regular class meeting may be skipped. A make-up session may be scheduled during the quarter and/or final class meeting will take place on June 8, 2017; details TBA.
Rental fees (not included in tuition) are charged for use of the PCNW facilities – studios, darkroom, digital lab, etc – to complete assignments outside of class; a list of rental rates for students is available on the Hours/Rates page.
