Photography III: Visual Literacy
Mon 6-9pm | Mar 27 - Jun 5
Prerequisites: Photography II (Black & White or Digital)
Credits: 3 - fulfills Photography III requirement for Certificate Program
Building on Photo I and II courses, Photography III is a project and critique driven course aimed at students who have completed at least two photography courses in either black and white or digital. Assignments in this course are designed to allow students maximum latitude in their choice of medium, style, and subject while focusing their work on a single project for the quarter. In this course, students refine their technical knowledge and develop new conceptual strategies for creating their work. Research, critiques, and project development are integral components of the class. This is a required course for the Certificate Program and it is recommended that students take Photo I, II, III in sequence.
*NO CLASS on Monday, April 17; students are required to attend an evening lecture with Sandra Phillips and exhibition reception on the previous Thursday, April 13 as part of make-up for missed class. PCNW CLOSED / NO CLASSES on May 29, 2017 in observance of Memorial Day.
Rental fees (not included in tuition) are charged for use of the PCNW facilities – darkroom, digital lab, etc – to complete assignments outside of class; a list of rental rates for students is available on the Hours/Rates page.
