Prerequisites: Junior Seminar
Credits: 3 - fulfills Senior Seminar requirement for Certificate Program
This course is for students learning to develop a long–term photographic project. While emphasizing independent work, the course supports students in their ability to edit, see connections and parallels in contemporary practice, and confront artistic challenges. Aspects of professional artistic practice and project development are key components of this course. The course will meet weekly to discuss the evolution of students’ ideas, review the work of artists working on similar projects, and discuss marketing and presentation of final projects. For Certificate Program Students, this course is designed to be taken the spring quarter prior to entering the Thesis year which begins in the fall quarter of each year.
Rental fees (not included in tuition) are charged for use of the PCNW facilities – darkroom, digital lab, etc – to complete assignments outside of class; a list of rental rates for students is available on the Hours/Rates page.
