Attention Photo Center Alumni!

We have an exciting upcoming opportunity to show your new work at the Photo Center. We are thrilled to see the new projects you’ve developed since graduation and are looking forward to exhibiting your work alongside our graduating thesis students. The deadline to submit your work is THIS Saturday, February 26th.

The Alumni New Work Exhibition celebrates your creative continuation. We trust that our current students will find inspiration in your work and are looking forward to giving you an opportunity to showcase your work in our galleries. The Photo Center will be offering support workshops and programs specifically designed to help alumni prepare for this exhibition.

The Photo Center staff will be available to review your portfolio and guide you as you prepare for the exhibition. If you would like to schedule a portfolio review  with our staff please contact Ann Pallesen at apallesen@pcnw.org or Rafael Soldi at rsoldi@pcnw.org. The following are upcoming resources available to you in the near future:

Best Business Practices with Marita Holdaway
Monthly workshops for emerging artists covering various topics relating to one’s professional practice. $35 per session – 3rd Tuesday evening of the month. More info here (scroll down).

Portfolio Reviews with Todd Hido
Thursday, March 3, 5-9 PM, $175
Todd Hido will review & critique artists’ individual portfolios in a group discussion to bring a greater understanding to artists’ personal vision and the editing process. More info here.

Help our gallery staff hang Across the Divide: Critical Mass 2010 exhibition March 1st & 2nd and learn the basics of art handling and proper installation techniques in a professional environment. For more information contact Erin Spencer at espencer@pcnw.org.


How to Participate in the Alumni Show:

WORK SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
This show is open to all photographic process, all themes, and graduates of the Photo Center Certificate Program.

First Deadline of Participation: Saturday, February 26th

– Please submit 10 images on a CD or make an appointment with Ann Pallesen or Rafael Soldi to review your current work in progress in February.
– Image should be Jpeg format, 72 dpi, 800px on the longest side
– Completed entry form with your labeled CD
-Label files as follows: lastname_name_title
